Ever since I can remember, I’ve always loved books, movies, and—like a true Brazilian—I religiously followed soap operas.
But more than that, I thrived on telling stories.
I remember studying for school exams with my guitar in hand and my mom beside me, singing and explaining what I had learned. Sharing was the only way I could stay focused.
Then I became an actress, and storytelling became my job—yaaaay! I spent my entire life bringing someone else’s words to life, and booooy, did I enjoy it!
But now, I feel the need to share my own story, my thoughts, and my feelings. Do you want to be my passenger prince/princess on this ride?
It all started when I was 9 years old. A small-town girl, I asked my parents to take me to a modeling agency because I wanted a book of photos. “Why?” they asked. “Do you want to be a model?” “No… I don’t know. I just want beautiful pictures to look at when I’m older.”
From that moment, a series of serendipitous events began to unfold. Those moments led me to become the lead character in a mini-series on TV Globo, the world’s second-biggest TV network.
How did it happen? Well, my local agency invited me for an audition, where I had to interview people walking their dogs in the park. I didn’t get the job, but I spoke to a woman who had a lovely dog. It turns out she worked at an agency in São Paulo. The following week, Globo called her, looking for a girl with my characteristics. She remembered me and called the agencies in my town to find me for the audition.
At that point, both of my parents worked full-time, so taking a random Wednesday off to drive me to São Paulo seemed impossible. My mother declined the offer. But when she mentioned it to her boss, her boss immediately told her, “If you don’t take her, I’ll fire you!” So, off we went—LOL.
Back then, Google Maps wasn’t a thing, so we left really early just in case. And thank God we did, because our car broke down on the highway, turning what should’ve been a 1.5-hour drive into a 4-hour journey. Anyway, I finally made it to the audition. After auditioning 2,000 girls, they chose me.
This is just the beginning of the stories that shaped who I am today—a person who believes in serendipity, the universe, and that “what’s meant to be will be.” I believe in chakras, energy, meditation, listening to my feelings, and most of all, I believe in love.
I’m ready to share more stories. Are you ready to tag along?
Love,Carolina
